It’s Never Too Early to Start Planning for the SAMBA Annual Meeting 2023
Kara M. Barnett, MD, FASA
Chairperson, Scientific Papers Committee
The abstract submission portal for the next annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona will open in just a few short months. It’s time to start designing and implementing what could be the next award-winning SAMBA abstract. Additionally, with the start of the new academic year and trainees looking for academic projects, consider recruiting anesthesia trainees and medical students to take part in ambulatory, non-operating room, or office-based anesthesia research for submission. We accept abstracts of original research, medically challenging cases, and quality improvement projects.
The award categories include:
-
White Mountain Award: $1000 split among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the best research by an anesthesia trainee
-
SAMBA Travel Award: $1000 travel award to an anesthesia trainee whose original research abstract is accepted for presentation
-
Excellence and Innovation Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the highest rated abstract submissions
-
QA/Ambulatory Patient Safety Research Award: $500 for the abstract rated highest in the research and promotion of patient safety
Please let us know if you have any questions (barnettk@mskcc.org). We look forward to your submissions and hope to see you at the annual meeting.
