Michael O’Rourke, MD, FASA

Michael O’Rourke, MD, FASA is an anesthesiologist at the Edward Hines, Jr VA hospital and Affiliate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine of Loyola University Chicago. He is currently Treasurer of SAMBA after previously serving as SAMBA Assistant Treasurer and member of SAMBA Board of Directors. He previously was the medical director of Loyola’s preoperative screening clinic, Associate Medical Director of Loyola’s Ambulatory Surgery Center and a member of the ASA Committee on Ambulatory Surgical Care. He has presented nationally and internationaly on topics relating to preoperative assessment, ambulatory anesthesia and NORA, and regional anesthesia and pain control in ambulatory anesthesia. When not at work, he coaches his child’s soccer team and is a distance runner. He is passionate about his clinical work at the Edward Hines, Jr VA hospital outside Chicago.
