Catherine Tobin MD

Catherine Tobin, M.D., is an anesthesiologist based in Charleston, SC, specializing in ambulatory. She completed her medical education and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she has been serving since 2009. Dr. Tobin has expertise in simulation, with notable contributions to research, including publications on anesthesia safety and systems engineering in perioperative settings. She has developed and directed the Moderate Sedation Simulation Course at MUSC. Dr. Tobin is the medical director of the MUSC Healthcare Simulation Center. In 2022, she became the Lewis Blackman Endowed Chair for Patient Safety and Simulation.
