SAMBA RESIDENTS SECTION |
Comments from the Chair of the Resident
Committee Dear Colleagues, It is with great pleasure that I greet you as the Chair of the new Resident Component for SAMBA. I am excited about being involved in the infancy of this committee. We have a great opportunity to be involved in laying a foundation, which will have a dramatic impact on the Resident Component for SAMBA in the coming years. I, and the Chair-Elect Dr. R. Hsiung, would like to invite you to join us in making history. We want this section to truly reflect the issues in Ambulatory Anesthesia pertinent to the resident experience. As the specialty of Ambulatory Anesthesia blossoms, we want residents to understand how it impacts them during and after residency. Also, we want to have a forum where residents can have their questions addressed. In addition, we will provide information about upcoming meetings and workshops, as well as fellowships in Regional and Ambulatory Anesthesia. To that end, we have provided the Resident Component Website and e-newsletter. Since this is early in the development of this component, we ask you to give us your input on how we can address resident issues in SAMBA. Please send us your ideas for articles and questions about Ambulatory Anesthesia. We implore you to join us in making the Resident component of SAMBA the best that it can be. Finally, as the events along the Gulf Coast unfold, we, along with the ASA, ask you to continue to offer your prayers for the victims left by Hurricane Katrina. We ask you to help through your hospital, local or federal programs, in any capacity that you can. Sincerely,
