GENERAL
INFORMATION
HURRICANE UPDATE
The
SAMBA Board of Directors has decided to hold the Society's Mid Year
Meeting as scheduled on the day prior to the ASA Annual Meeting,
now relocated to Atlanta. A number of people who responded to our
survey indicated that they had planned far in advance to have this
time off from work for educational meetings, and so we are following
ASA's lead in attempting to provide CME opportunities for our membership.
The SAMBA Midyear Meeting will be held at the Hyatt
Regency Atlanta on October 21, 2005, Registration
for the meeting is available at
the meeting. We appreciate your patience in waiting
for our decision which was delayed until we were able to find sufficient
meeting space in Atlanta.
The Hyatt Regency Atlanta will be one of the hotels
used by the ASA for its meeting. We encourage you to visit the ASA
website for updates on the ASA Annual Meeting, including
information regarding hotel reservations, transportation arrangements,
and specific details related to the ASA meeting program.

Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the first contemporary
atrium hotel in the world, reinvented modern hotel architecture
when it transformed itself with a total renovation and expansion
in 1996.
In the heart of downtown, Hyatt's 23-story flagship hotel is one
of the premier meeting destinations in the US. Offering nearby shopping
and convenient access to America's Mart, Georgia World Congress
Center and Georgia Dome, it is ideally located among hotels in Atlanta,
Georgia.
The familiar blue dome soars over an exclusive downtown address
right on Peachtree Street. Home to 180,000 square feet of function
space, our hotel features the magnificent Grand Hall exhibit area
and three ballrooms including Centennial Ballroom, Atlanta's largest
hotel ballroom. For smaller meetings and presentations, the Atlanta
Conference Center is the ideal setting. With 52 meeting rooms seating
10 to 4,000 guests and four dedicated hospitality suites, Hyatt
sets a new standard for luxury hotels in Atlanta.
All
hotel reservations must be made by October 5, 2005, through the
ASA Annual Meeting Housing Bureau. Please visit www2.ASAhq.org

This meeting is designed for anesthesiologists and practioners
who specialize in ambulatory anesthesia and for scientists working in
the areas of basic and clinical sciences.
Needs Assessment
Topics for this meeting were selected by several methods.
Suggestions for future topics were derived from evaluations of the 2004
and other previous mid year and annual meetings. Additionally, these suggestions
were discussed by our authorities in the field of ambulatory anesthesia
with educators who attended previous Annual, Mid Year and Board meetings.

with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education through the Joint Sponsorship of the American Society
