THE SAMBA CLINICAL OUTCOMES REGISTRY IS HERE: SCOR! - TOP

In an era when regulators are increasingly determining what is ‘best practice’, help SAMBA help YOU to determine what is really best practice.

SCOR will be discussed during the P4P and billing lectures at the SAMBA Mid Year meeting on Friday, October 12th. The database will be on display at the SAMBA booth (#607) in the ASA Exhibit Hall in San Francisco throughout the ASA Annual Meeting, October 13-16th. Come to the SAMBA booth #607 for more information on subscription to the Registry. Charter members will receive a discount.

Simple Data entry: the only equipment needed is a computer with an Internet connection. Data entry is via a user-friendly Web site with simple drop-down menus.

Compliance: The registry provides anonymous and HIPAA compliant data entry and reporting: data will be scrubbed of patient identifiers at the point of entry, leaving all ASCs and their patients protected from identification by any other Center or the database managers.

Outcomes and process measures: automated reports will show you your outcomes and process trends, focusing your quality improvement work where it will really help. Are your turn-around times as short as they should be? Is PONV a problem?

Reports you and your specialty can use:

QA Program Support: participation in the Registry will be a valuable automated tool in your Total Quality Improvement program!

Accreditation: this registry should help your ASC meet standards for quality assessment and improvement programs needed for accreditation.

National Benchmarks and Best Practices: all facilities can compare themselves anonymously to similar sized or same-specialty centers, as well as to the subspecialty as a whole. In addition to value to each facility, the specialty will at last discover national practice and outcome patterns. Designed for ambulatory surgery centers where the entire patient population can be captured in this registry. Also useful for tracking ambulatory patients in practices with mixed inpatient and outpatient cases.
