SAMBA ANNUAL MEETING CATERS TO RESIDENTS - TOP

SAMBA understands the importance of resident education and the future of residents in anesthesiology. We have designed a program that will provide leadership, educational and networking opportunities for Chief Residents. SAMBA is offering the following discounts to Chief Residents:

  1. Complimentary Meeting Registration ($200)
  2. Complimentary Registration for 1 of the following Workshops:
  • Preconvention Workshop: Postoperative Management
  • Workshop 1: Acupuncture for Ambulatory Anesthesia Practice ($15)
  • Workshop 2A: An Introduction to Ultrasound and Anesthesia ($15)
  • Workshop 2B: An Introduction to Ultrasound and Anesthesia ($15)
  • Workshop 3: Advanced Administrative ($15)
  • Workshop 4: Regional Anesthesia: Peripheral Blocks of the Upper and Lower Extremities ($25)
  • Workshop 5: Anesthesia Simulation ($15)

In addition to the above discounts, SAMBA has created a General Session dedicated to residents. On Saturday, May 6, 2006, from 4:00 – 5:10 p.m., Alan P. Marco, M.D., will moderate General Session 5: Residents Session: Administration and Practice. SAMBA Leaders will host a special reception for Chief Residents immediately following this program. SAMBA Leaders and Chief Residents can continue to network during the SAMBA Social Evening at the International Spy Museum.

SAMBA has six other General Sessions and Parallel Tracks that Chief Residents may find particularly interesting.  Interested incoming chiefs or their program directors should contact the SAMBA office to register.  On Saturday afternoon, a special panel is offered focusing on administrative and practice issues for residents.  SAMBA will also sponsor a reception for incoming chief residents to give them the opportunity to meet their counterparts from other programs.

In addition, a limited number of travel awards are available for anesthesiology residents whose scientific abstracts are accepted for presentation at the SAMBA 2006 Annual Meeting.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the SAMBA Office at (847) 825-5586.
